He’s still afraid of
storms
His body trembles with every
BOOM! and FLASH!
He’s not afraid of much
Not any more.
Now I am afraid for him.
But I’m not afraid of storms.
He’s not afraid of
strangers
Now I am afraid for him
Because every stranger
is his friend.
He’s not afraid of
being alone
Now I am afraid for him
because he runs off without me
in public.
He’s not afraid of
eating
Now I am afraid for him
because he eats
anything he finds
on the ground.
He’s not afraid of much
Not anymore
Just storms.
He’s a good brave dog,
but I miss him being
a scaredy puppy.
