He’s still afraid of

storms

His body trembles with every

BOOM! and FLASH!

 

He’s not afraid of much

Not any more.

Now I am afraid for him.

But I’m not afraid of storms.

strangers

For Debbie...

You grin at me

your eyes sparkle

and clap your hands

as you do your dance

you know the one,

The “I told you so”

Miss Smarty Pants Dance.

 

And still I have to tell you

Thank you!

For teaching me

to open up and express myself.

 

But in a flash

the smile is gone

you tear up and say

“I just held out my hand

and you followed.

It was already there.”
