This past weekend 17 OWP Teacher Consultants gathered at Missouri State University for a Visioning Retreat. As part of the retreat, TC's were asked to write the mission of the OWP. This mission will guide decision making and action as the site continues to grow in teacher capacity. Alexa Sandmann, Director of the Kent State WP, led us in writing activities and discussion that focused on key words and phrases of the work of the site, and as a result, one of the following four mission statement

Ten OWP Teacher Consultants Attend NWP Annual Meeting in Philidelphia

Finishing our first full year as a recognized site of the National Writing Project, the OWP sent 10 TC's to the annual meeting in Philadelpia this past week. Aside from attending sessions on podcasting, the new digital media, summer institute facilitating, teacher inquiry, shared leadership and many other effective topics, TC's listened to Billy Collins read poetry at the general session on Friday.
